About this deal
Touch-screen text entry is still 1970s style: you have to press each area a few times like spelling on a 1970s touch-tone corded phone to get to each letter!
Reproduction in whole or part in any form or medium without specific written permission is prohibited. Camera is using in house developed AVC Video Format called XAVC. The format is compressed format, achieving balanced quality and file size. Recording in color depth of 10 bits and 4:2:2 chroma subsampling is possible with Sony's XAVC codec.
If you get this external charger you can charge two batteries at once; one in the camera via USB and the other in this charger. The α7 IV's high-precision stabilisation unit and gyro sensors work with stabilisation algorithms to achieve up to 5.5 steps of shutter-speed compensation, to maximise the performance of the camera's 33.0MP sensor. This in-body stabilisation allows effective use with a wide range of lenses. The live monitor view shows the stabilised still image while the shutter button is half-pressed, an especially helpful feature when using a telephoto or macro lens, and it can be used in conjunction with the MF Assist and Focus Magnifier features.
New HEIF file option stores 10-bit data in about the same space as an 8-bit JPG (be careful: not all software that you or your clients have can read HEIF files). Not only does the combination of a LEICA (or other traditional Nikon or Canon) lens and Sony A9 sensor induce field curvature (there are a lot of optics and micro lenses on a sensor before you get to the light-sensitive part), it also induces astigmatism: the sagittal and meridional planes diverge. In the A7 IV the most detail is at ISO 50 (L), and becomes softer at each higher ISO. This is normal and how noise reduction works in every camera.
